A must have for flyers in a crowded area to fly
Broke my antenna and got this one to replace it. This was a very simple install and only took me 30 mins to install. This new one has boosted my range to pretty good range from about 5,000 feet range in a crowded and tree filled area to over 12,000 feet and that was limited because of the battery. Just check out the screenshot of my flight to see the proof

    These antenna are amazing! Purchased for my Phantom 3 Advanced. Tried all of the others, and these are by far the best yet. Easy do-it-yourself kit. Everything fit as advertised. Like the way it mounts onto the controller. Couldn't believe the range I now get without having the constant "signal lost" I used to get with my other setups. Would recommend to anyone wanting to increase the range of your Phantom. Very satisfied.

    I had high hopes of this product, but all were crushed after installation and first flight. The product itself appears to be well made and clean looking after installation, however the range this antenna gives is worse than the stock antenna of DJI.
    I have to say that I was getting about 2.5 miles un-boosted with DJI antenna, and if I added a range booster (fold-able copper or aluminum style parabolic antenna) such as this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017MI9ZJE/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465797746&sr=sr-1&keywords=range+booster I was able to get near 5 miles consistently (of course with a battery modification), my max range (as allowed by the battery) was 5.4 miles distance from the controller with the above setup, but with barely a red bar controller signal at that range and having to have a perfect alignment between the phantom and the antenna.
    Having watched the videos that DBS had on their website, it clearly shows that they reached similar range 5.25 miles however they had a 5 bars controller signal with that range.
    considering above I expected to get at least the same range I was getting but with a stronger controller signal.
    after installation and testing , my range dropped drastically, now my max range I could achieve with this antenna was near 2.5 miles with the controller disconnecting and RTH function kicking in at that range!!! , tried 2 more flights and with similar results.
    Luckily I did not follow their instructions in the video of cutting the DJI antenna cable and I saved the cable uncut as I plan to put it back and return this product.
    PS: the product does not come with the rubber pieces to plug the holes of the removed DJI antennas, also the video on their website shows that they are installing a "long range electronic module" to replace the module in the back of the controller, and of course there is no such module included with this setup.
    very disappointing, especially that you had to drill holes in the controller and more disappointing if you destroyed the DJI stock antenna and cut the cable as they advise in their video.
    My advise stay with the stock antenna and add a parabolic antenna for $10 which will give you better range than this one.

    This thing took me 3 hours to install. There are no instructions. It is an incredible pain in the ass to install. I mean... seriously. WHY no instructions? NO clue. Does it work?     Con-removing the antenna from the controller can take some time (wing nuts), if your in a hurry to assemble to record something. Hard to find/make/fit into a case. If you just leave it on the controller.... Your good.

    I am really impressed with this mod for my DJI P3A Before installing this antenna I could barely get a mile out I'm distance before losing video and remote signal and return home would initiate automatically. Yesterday I flew out over the ocean to around an off shore oil platform that is almost 2 miles out and back. I could've gone further, but it was very windy and was concerned about having enough battery to return back with the wind. This product does what it claims to do. Easy imstall, easy set up, excellent performance. Do your self a favor, and get this for your drone.

    What I received did not have a single page of installation instructions and was not like the photo at all. After detaching my Phantom 3 internal leads, I was unpleasantly surprised that the feed-throughs were not nearly long enough to fit through the existing antenna holes. I sent it back and ordered the correct unit directly from MAXXUAV. Now I have a disassembled the remote controller until I receive the correct item from MAXXUAV. Amazon should be more careful to assure that what is advertised and pictured is actually what you get.
